Award-winning First Nations playwright, Kenneth T. Williams read from his latest play, Café Daughter, of which a community tour is currently being produced by Gwaandak Theatre and coming to the stage in May. Williams is a Cree playwright, filmmaker and journalist from the George Gordon First Nation in Saskatchewan. His plays Gordon Winter, Thunderstick, Bannock Republic, Suicide Notes and Three Little Birds have been professionally produced across Canada.

Award-winning playwright and director Yvette Nolan shared an evening of play readings presented by Gwaandak Theatre and Baked Café.
Yvette Nolan is a playwright, dramaturg, and director. Her plays include Two Old Women, Annie Mae’s Movement, BLADE, Job’s Wife, Video, and Scattering Jake. From 2003-2011, Nolan served as Artistic Director of Native Earth Performing Arts, Canada’s oldest professional theatre company, in Toronto. In 2011, Nolan won the Bob Couchman award for Outstanding Director for Café Daughter.
