Storytellers Rising

We are pleased to launch Storytellers Rising! With this program, Gwaandak Theatre is providing tickets for Indigenous youth between the ages of 14-20 to attend theatre productions in Whitehorse throughout the 2023/2024 Season.

Storytellers Rising includes opportunities to:

-Attend one free performance of each applicable theatre production in Whitehorse this Season.

-Meet with the cast and crew post-show to talk about the play and their own experiences in theatre and/or participate in a facilitated conversation with Gwaandak Theatre staff.

-Develop relationships with other Indigenous youth.

After filling out the program form, youth (or their guardian(s) if the youth is under 19), will be contacted throughout the Season by our staff with details about upcoming shows and given the opportunity to RSVP their attendance. This form will be up throughout the year and youth can join anytime during the Season. The program form only needs to be filled out once per youth.

Download the Storytellers Rising Permission Form and email the completed form to rebecca@gwaandaktheatre.ca.

The next eligible shows will be during Gwaandak Theatre’s Awaken Festival! Join us for The Art of War on Sunday April 14th, Rocko and Nakota: Tales From the Land on Sunday April 21st, and Omaagomaan on Sunday April 28th.
